Talcum Powder
Lawsuit Information
A study conducted in 1971 discovered that talcum powder was in 75% of ovarian tumors. Allegations have recently surfaced claiming that Johnson & Johnson knew about the possible link between talcum powder products such as Johnson's Baby Powder and Shower to Shower and the risk of being diagnosed with ovarian cancer, but failed to properly warn the general public of the potential ovarian cancer risk.
In 2013 the first talcum powder lawsuit was won in federal court against Johnson & Johnson. This benchmark lawsuit gives hope to the possibility of financial compensation and product accountability to the thousands of women who have been diagnosed with ovarian cancer after using a talcum powder product. Due to the popularity of talcum powder there are thousands of potential claims that could be filed against Johnson & Johnson due to their negligence.
